oval office media habour

The media habour of Düsseldorf has become one of the hotspots for project developments in the state capital. Demand and real estate prices are high.

The neighborhood on the banks of the Rhine is now to be enriched with a new office building. An office building is to be constructed that is to be conspicuous for its particularly resource-saving operation. In doing so, attention is to be paid to the fact that the electricity yield is greater than the electricity consumption.

The design is characterized by its oval ground plan. Due to this shape, the facade can be realized with a sunshade made of photovoltaic elements. This moves to the position of the sun and thus optimally uses the energy. The large atrium in the center of the floor plan allows the building to be naturally ventilated for the most part. Several geothermal probes are used for heating in winter and by reversible heat pumps for cooling in summer.
