The integrated project within the framework of the urban development of Aachen deals with an area in the north of Aachen. This is the Bendplatz, known for the annual fair and other events.

Within the scope of the project, the existing situation was analyzed in order to develop a future goal and an urban development concept. The main focus was on the design of open space and the development of a new neighborhood center. This should interact with the current campus planning of the RWTH to the west of the planning area.

In a subsequent step and based on the framework plan, a neighborhood was developed with communal living, a new neighborhood center in the existing building of the Employment Agency and residential blocks with pergolas in the direction of the RWTH planning area. The new campus is connected to the neighborhood by a wide axis leading to the community center.
